Otilia MANDESCU CANAVRA (b. 1981, Constanta), visual artist specialized in graphic arts. She graduated from the National University of Arts Bucharest, graphic arts department. She has attended master courses in visual arts and she is a member of the Romanian Artists Union. Awards at national and international contests: 1994 - ”Fantasy Prize” - The 3rd Yokohama International Children's Handmade Picture Book Contest; 1997 - 2nd Prize at the ”Alexandru Ciucurencu” National Painting Competition, 8th edition, Tulcea; 1998 - Laureate at the ”Le Geste En Liberte” International Fine Arts Competition organized by the UNESCO Center, LOUIS FRANCOIS, Paris, France; 1999 - 1st Prize at the National Olympiad of Fine Arts and Art History, Craiova; Special prize at the Poiana Sarata Creation Camp, Bacau; 2000 - 2nd prize at the National Olympiad of Fine Arts and Art History, Bistrita; 2004 - 3rd Prize at the National Engraving Competition, Tulcea.
