Elena SURDU STANESCU (born 1942, Bucharest), sculptor. In 1965 she graduated from the Pedagogical Institute in Bucharest, the Faculty of Fine Arts and in 1982 the ”Nicolae Grigorescu” Institute of Fine Arts Bucharest. She is a member of the Romanian Artists Union, sculpture department. She served as the Art Department Manager within the Ministry of National Education and she is the president of the ”Elena Surdu Stanescu” Foundation. Awards: Diploma of Honor C.C. U.T.C., Diploma and Silver / Gold Medal - French Merit and Devotion - 2009/2013.
